NOTW #2

Hey everyone! Hope you've all had a good week, is it me or they seem to go past really quick nowadays?! It's crazy!
Anyway, here I am with my usual nail of the week post. I decided to try something a little bit different for me this week and I attempted the gradient glitter effect, I know it's not the best and I so regret choosing a silver glitter polish but hey! I do think glitter polishes can look pretty, but I know I won't be saying that when it comes to getting it off!
For this look I used Barry m black nail polish and then another Barry m polish which is their limited edition silver glitter one, I'm not sure if they still have it but I'm sure another brand will have something extremely similar!

Hope you're all well! X

Make up history tag!

Hey everyone, I have another tag for you all today! I tag anyone who reads this to do it, then leave your links down in the comments and I'll read them all! :)
Picture found on weheartit.com and edited on  PicMonkey
1. How long have you been wearing makeup?
I started to wear it properly when I was probably around 16, not long before I left school, but even then it was just foundation and a little bit of mascara! (When I could be bothered to wake up earlier for school to apply it!)

2. What was your favourite makeup product in the beginning?
I was fascinated by all sorts of makeup in my early teens, and literally used to collect it but never ever wear it, but the only product I did wear was lipbalms, I used to, and still love them! I think the obsession started off with the Body Shop lipbalms!

3. What is your favourite makeup product now?
I think it still is lip products, but not only lipbalms, I'm more of a lipstick kinda girl now too which I never imagined!

4. What were some of your favourite brands in the beginning?
I honestly don't think I had a favourite brand, I just went for what I liked and what was a good price. I think I brought a lot of Rimmel products when I was younger though, especially those metallic single eyeshadows they used to do, my friend and I used to love them but never ever wore them, and I'm so glad we didn't as thinking back to it, I'm sure we had a variety of bright blue metallic eyeshadows....not a good look!

5. What are some of your favourite brands now?
To be fair, I still stick to some stuff that's a good price and I'd rather pick out something cheap that works really well  rather than something expensive which does virtually the same thing. Although I do love Revlon. Revlon is definitely my favourite high street brand, alongside Rimmel. MUA is absolutely fantastic too, seriously could not rave about their products enough- especially their eyeshadows. Non high street wise- I do love MAC and Nars for when I'm feeling to splurge out on things.

6. How would you describe your makeup style?
I think it's pretty simple. I go for the more natural colours for the eye and if I'm feeling a bright or dark lip, I'll go for that too.

7. What is your everyday makeup like?
I usually wear foundation, blusher, maybe contour, eyeshadow if I'm feeling it, fill in my eyebrows, mascara and a highlighter again if i'm feeling up to it.

8. What is your going out makeup like?
I usually wear foundation, blusher, contour, either winged liner or eye shadow, highlighter and a bright lipstick, and mascara or fake eyelashes.

9. What makeup look are you known for?
I don't think I'm known for any but the only thing I can think of is my eyebrows?! I'm the only one out of my group of friends who likes to fill in their eyebrows.

10. What's the worst beauty crime you have committed?
The only thing I can think of is sleeping in my makeup. I make sure I always take it off now, although saying that I did go on a night out the other night and woke up the next morning realising I'd slept in it which felt awful but I ensure I take it off every other time!

11. What is the worst beauty crime you are proud to have not committed?
Not sure it's a beauty crime as such but I've never ever worn thick black eyeliner on my waterline. I just really dislike it and I remember so many people at school wearing it I'm glad I didn't. It's just not for me.

12. What is a trend you were part of but now aren't a fan of?
Hmm, not sure if it's a trend but the only thing I can think of is the Maybelline matte mousse foundation. I'm sure it was one of my first foundations which I properly started to wear in year 11 and I'm sure every other girl had it too. I truly dislike it now.

13. What is one trend you are proud to say you were never part of?
Aside from the whole eyeliner thing, I think the orange face and white neck thing that suddenly started to happen....the real OTT look.

14. What is one look you will never ever go for?
I think the real OTT look...like the jersey shore look?!You know?

15. If you were brave enough to go for any look, what would you go for?
Errrrm, aside from makeup related, I think colourful hair...I really want pastel coloured hair!!

16. What is an old Holy Grail product of yours?
I genuinely think it was the Maybelline Matte Mousse haha. I'm not sure whether I actually believed it was good or if it was because everyone had it, but I remember I kept buying it and wouldn't try any foundations until after I left school.

17. What is a current Holy Grail product of yours?
I'm still yet to find a holy grail foundation but I do love the no.7 matte foundation. My definitely holy grail mascara has to be the Rimmel Glam Eyes day 2 night, I love it! Another holy grail item non makeup related has to be the La Roche Posay Effeclar Duo. It's done wonders for my skin and I honestly couldn't see myself without it!!

My week in pictures! 14-21st April 2012

Hey everyone! It's Sunday night now so we're at the end of the week. It's been an ok week for me- not the best, not the worst, but I did take a few pictures along the way which sums up my week and ill be sharing them with you!

Last Sunday I spring cleaned my bedroom and made it feel super relaxing my lighting a candle and just chilling in bed with my iPad. I always love the feeling of fresh bed sheets and a clean bedroom...lovely!

I had chocolate poptarts for breakfast practically everyday this week...naughty I know but they're so good! I'm super jealous of American people and how easy it is for them to get all the yummy flavours!

My delivery from jodie marsh arrived on Tuesday. I've always been curious about her sports range and I've heard real good things about her semtex so I jumped at the chance when she had a buy one get one free deal on! I'm going to start these tomorrow alongside going to the gym so I'm interested to see if they make any difference!

On Thursday my mum and I went into Starbucks and as some of you may know, I don't drink and never have drank hot drinks so I ordered my first ever drink from there which was their cool like refresher...it was lovely and certainly lived up to the hype. Although they did spell my name wrong haha!

On Friday my mum and I took a trip into Morrisons and I picked up the new cadburys chocolate bars to share with my brother. They were yummy and very different!

Do any of you have any 'my week in photos' posts? I'd love to see them! They're probably more interesting than mine too haha! X

P.s: just realised most of my photos are food related, sorry! (I like food)

NOTW #1

Hey everyone! It's a sunny Sunday morning here in the UK which instantly makes me happy! I decided to wake up pretty early this morning to ensure my day is productive, and already I've done what I needed to do so decided to allow the sun to influence what colour I chose for my nails for this week.
Whilst looking through my nail varnish collection I immediately went towards the brighter colours, and then I realised I hadn't worn blue in a while soooo I went for that! My choice was 'Cyan Blue' by Barry M. It's a lovely colour and makes a change from the standard pastel blue or navy blue I suppose! I love Barry M nail varnishes and I own virtually every single one, so expect them to make an appearance in future NOTW's! Hope you're all well and enjoying your Sundays! X

It's been a whole year!

This is a photo of me On the 19th April 2012, my secretly still 6 year old self went to see Steps in their reunion tour at the 02 arena...which I must admit, was much better than even I anticipated, as sad as it sounds. However, also on this day I decided to not use any more heat appliances on my hair, meaning that was the last day I'd straighten my hair. I'm not sure whether it was just me becoming lazy or if I really wanted to test myself and see how long my hair would become in however long I lasted without straightening it. I don't have crazy curly hair anyway so it wasn't too bad, but I'm so glad I chose to do this. I'm very happy with how long my hair has got already and it was a nice little challenge to see what happened and how long I lasted! Also means I don't spend as long getting ready which is always a plus right?!

Have any of you ever done something like this? X

Weekly favourites #1 | 15th April 2013

Hey everyone! I'm keeping up with my promise with blogging more, so I thought I'd do my first ever weekly favourites. I'm not really sure if many people do weekly favourites, I know most people do monthly ones but hey! Of course, a lot of my favourites aren't going to change drastically each week, but I promise to make it somewhat interesting and different each week. Here we go!

Favourite TV Programme/ App
Ok so, I took up on the chance of a free month subscription for Netflix, which caused me to come across several American programmes such as teen Mom and The Hills. I've always been curious about The Hills ever since Heidi and Spencer appeared on UK Big Brother, so I thought I'd kill the curiosity and give it a go. Not even kidding you....I am hooked. I know I'm a good 6 years late with this but oh my! I love it.

Favourite Make-up items
When I noticed Boots had their infamous 3 for 2 offer back on, I jumped at the chance and brought a few items, items which I was curious to try as I'd heard a lot about. The Rocket Volum' express mascara by Maybelline is truly wonderful. I'm forever trying out new mascara and I think this one alongside my Rimmel Day and Night mascara, are really going to be two mascaras I never stop buying. I've never really been too bothered about Maybelline as a brand as I've always automatically gone to Revlon and Rimmel stands in Boots, however this trip definitely changed my view on things so I'm keen to try more Maybelline products (what a good excuse to buy more makeup!) On this trip I also brought Maybelline's gel eyeliner. Now, I've never even worn gel eyeliner but I again, was so curious I just had to chance it...and honestly, I've worn it everyday since! I love it, especially in combination with the Volume express mascara too. My mum even asked if she could borrow both so surely that's a good sign?!

Favourite day
Thursday was a genuinely lovely day. My mum had a job interview, we went to starbucks, I then recieved a phonecall from Debenhams inviting me for an interview in the next few weeks (fingers crossed!!) we then went to view a house in Biggleswade which honestly was a highlight of the day. My family and I instantly fell in love with the house and the views, really reminded us of living back in Somerset, honestly so beautiful, we're just hoping to find a guarentor so we can move in (again, fingers crossed!) It was nice to see us all happy and excited for something that could possibly happen. We're just hoping it all goes through.

Favourite youtuber
I've been addicted to youtube for some time now, it's quite scary how much time I actually spend on there haha! Recently I discovered Daily Grace and honestly, I love her and her videos
...to the point where I've been watching them non stop and any collaborations Grace has done with any other youtubers. So funny I don't know how I've just discovered her. Honestly, go watch her videos!!

What were YOUR favourites of this week?! x
