Products I regret buying #1

l-r: maybelline coloursensational popstick in citris slice, NYC showtime black mascara, MUA eyebrow pencil in Blonde, soap and glory eyebrow pencil, Rimmel London scandaleyes mascara.

This month in particular I've been trying so hard to use all of my products up before using the newer ones I have purchased or just buying more. I'm normally one who either just forgets about the products I wasn't so keen on but still keep them at the bottom of my make-up pile, or just throws them away straight away, so this whole 'one in one out' policy really reminded me of the products I'm not so keen on, but will carry on using them nonetheless purely because I know I'll be using my nicer products after haha.

Maybelline Coloursensational popstick in Citris Slice: You may have seen this product feature in one of my hauls a while back, and I won't lie, I haven't used it since. It was just an impulse buy, I saw it was orange and then the 3 for 2 Superdrug deal got the better of me so of course I had to buy it..but I do wish I didn't. In the shop I did swatch it however I just put the lack of pigmentation due to the fact I'd swatch it on my hands and just presumed it would look different on the lips. Boy was I wrong. There's no colour at all, it just gives a glossy effect, which of course some may like but when I paid just over £8 for it I realise I could have got a nicer, cheaper lipgloss which would do the same thing. I know some people say that the only thing they like about this is the smell, but even that doesn't win me over I'm afraid.

NYC Showtime mascara: In all honesty, I'd forgotten all about this...and what's worse is I have two of them (again, the whole 3 for 2 deal got the better of me) There's nothing really to say about this apart from the fact I do not like it and it doesn't do what I expected it to do. I suppose the 'showtime lash' in the name made me think it would give me 'showtime' lashes. But I can't moan too much I suppose, it isn't too expensive so I haven't lost out on too much!

MUA eyebrow pencil in Blonde: Ok, so this is a bit of a controversial post because I think I do secretly like this product however there's just two things I wish I could change to make it the most perfect eyebrow pencil. 1) it wears down SO quickly. honestly, I'm using this and realising I'm having to sharpen it either halfway through using it or just before I use it. 2) I don't know, this is a confusing one so I'm hoping you can catch my drift. But when I use it, ok it's not super pigmented however it does the job BUT my eyebrows then resemble something out of Grease and they just look like they've been coated in gel and then just stuck to my forehead which just makes them look somewhat fake. (ok i've just read that through and I know it doesn't make sense but someone at least say they know what I mean?!) I don't know, I do like this, and for £1 I suppose I'm just being picky.....I probably will buy this again though haha.

Soap and Glory Eyebrow Pencil: Again, this eyebrow pencil makes me look as though I've stuck my eyebrows on which I don't like. (Thinking about it, it could just be my eyebrows/face) It's not very pigmented and looks more grey than brown which isn't too nice. But I do LOVE the highligter that comes with it!! Soap and Glory need to sell this seperately!

Rimmer Scandaleyes mascara: Ok, so maybe I shouldn't listen to adverts too much because as soon as I saw the advert for this I had to get it because the lashes on the model looked so volumised and beautiful, and of course, it doesn't do that to me. Maybe I have a faulty one (?) But even the brush and the formula is awful. The brush picks up way too much and the formula is just gloopy and think and then clumps all your eyelashes together which isn't nice at all. I don't like this at all but I am intrigued to try the new one thats recently come out, can't remember the name but it's one with the ball on the brush, you know?

What products do YOU regret buying?! xo

MUA Cosmetics

MUA may be a company which you have never heard of before.....but I'm telling you this, you're missing out! The company has such a wide range of products, you name it, they'll probably stock it and for such a good price too.
I've been so excited to try their products as I have heard such great things about them....all of which have proved to be true. During the week I ended up going into town with my little brother, and of course, had to drag him into Superdrug just so I could see if my local store was stocking MUA...and to my surprise, they were. After composing myself after getting way too excited, I decided I HAD to buy something and immediately looked for the two products I had been lusting over for a long time; the blonde eyebrow pencil and the Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette, and I'm ever so glad I purchased these.
The eyeshadow palette is perfect. I love every single one of these colours, and for only £4 you can't go wrong. The pigmentation for each of the eyeshadows is amazing, so much better than what I actually thought it would be considering the price. My favourite look from this palette is to use a lighter colour on the lid, and then a darker brown in the crease and slightly on the brow bone. Even my mum is saying she's liking how I'm doing my make-up lately with thanks to this palette!
The eyebrow pencil is definitely one of the best ones I've tried. I'm a sucker for defined eyebrows and can't go a day without filling mine in, making them look that little bit better, and I've found that this one does the job, much better than previous ones I've tried. The colour is perfect for me, which has been so hard to find. The formula of this pencil is amazing, it's so soft on the skin and just glides across your eyebrow, which in my opinion, makes it easier to fill them in and define. I love it....and guess what?! It's only £1!! That's it. I'll definitely be purchasing this again soon!

You can find MUA products in your local Superdrug, or if not you can buy products on their website (muastore.co.uk) or on Superdrugs website. These products are definitely worth buying and I'm so excited to buy more soon.....infact, I'm trying to persuade my mum to come into my local town with me tomorrow so I can buy more, and then convert her into a MUA lover! ;)

What's your favourite MUA product?

Essie polish

Since joining the wonderful world of blogging, I've had the chance to try, and fall in love with several beauty related products. Essie polish being one of these.
It was only the other day, I was at my dads and went into his local Boots, and to my surprise I was greeted by a bright stand FULL of Essie polish...which was my first encounter with this polish. I must have looked like a bit of a weirdo, standing in front of the stand, smiling to myself....but who cares! Unfortunately though, I had zero money on me and was later coming back home to Hertfordshire so that was dissapointing!
Since coming home back to Hertfordshire, it has been my mission to find one of these stands and give my mum the whole puppy-dog-eyed-look in hope she'd agree to buy me one, or buy herself one and just let me try it haha! But nope, nothing.
That was, until Saturday 9th June. My brother and I went into our local town, and after hearing that you can get Nails Inc polishes, a set of four for £14.99, in TK Maxx, I had to go have a look for myself. Of course, there were loads of Nails Inc polishes which made me extremely happy because it is such a good deal. However, whilst rummaging through random boxes of polishes I came across a set of three, in plain packaging and the well known white lid with the 'e' on it. Of course, I knew what make that was.....it was Essie! It was the only one left and I knew I had to get it, for £9.99 for three you could hardly go wrong, especially as in Boots they're retailed at £7.99 for one!
Although they wouldn't actually be the colours I would choose if I was buying polish, I still love them.
Although I believe there has been some mix up of the names of two of the polishes because Capri (far left) and Tangerine (middle) don't match up to the swatches online. However, I believe the real names for all three of these polishes are, left to right: Kisses & Bises, either Little Brown Dress or Lady Godiva (it's a chocolatey brown colour if anyones able to help?!) and the Antique Rose.

So far I've tried the brown coloured one and then i put the pearly whit on top of it, which i love. Everything I've heard about these polishes is so true, the formulation, the pigmentation, everything. I'll definitely be buying more of these polishes!!
Keep an eye out in your local TK Maxx too!

GLAMOUR freebies!

I'm sure most, if not all, of you are aware of this months Benefit freebies which come with Glamour magazine. Of course, I couldn't just get one....I had to get all three. At just £2 a magazine and getting at least a £10 freebie, you can't go wrong (even if the prospect of buying the same magazine three times is somewhat annoying!)
In my eyes, despite these of course only being sample sizes, this is still such a good deal...and I'm so glad I purchased all three!
The first one I picked up was the one with the 'Bad Gal Lash' mascara. Being a bit of a mascara junkie, I immediately picked this one up first and slightly squeeled with excitement, especially after hearing such good things about all Benefit mascaras. I have only used this one once as a bit of a tester, because I want to use up my current mascara first, however, just by using it that one time I honestly fell in love. Not only does this mascara add length to your lashes, it also volumizes them, which gradually builds up the more coats you apply to your lashes. I love it.
After then moving onto a second shop in my local area I realised that there were infact, three gifts! Again, I felt the same sort of childish excitement as I did after noticing the mascara in the previous shop. Of course I told myself I needed both of these in my life....and so I did. 'That Gal' primer is devine, so devine infact I'm scared to use it because it is such a tiny sample and I don't want to use it all up!! The application of my make-up after applying this primer is so, so different than what it is when I don't use this primer. Even if I use this primer alone, without make-up, I can notice a huge difference in my complexion and it overall gives me a brighter, healthier look. The smell of this product is also to die for, I absolutely love it.
The final product is the 'Porefessional primer.' Again, like the That Gal primer, the smell and application is wonderful, absolutely wonderful. This product leaves your skin feeling so smooth and slightly matte-like...which, for someone who has reasonably oily skin can be seen as a good thing! This product, like the other two, does exactly what it says on the box.
I know for sure, when I get a job again and after my pay day, I'll definitely be purchasing the full size products of all three of these. In the mean time though, I'll have to do with these samples -sigh-
If you're wanting to try out any of these products, then just buy the magazine....for £2, you can't really go wrong!
