30 beauty questions tag

I'm 1. Do you remember your first makeup item?
Let's face it, it probably was one of those fake makeup sets I got as a child, groovy chick or something! But my first "proper" make up item was probably a Rimmel  eyeshadow me and my friend were obsessed with at the age of about 11 or 12. Every time our parents went to asda we would ask one another to come purely so we could pick a new one up or see if there was a new shade added to the collection. Oh to be young again where it was acceptable to wear a blue eyeshadow!

2. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications
I have naturally long eyelashes so I tend to look for a mascara that claims to add volume. Mascar has always been the one makeup item I've been obsessed with probably ever since I started wearing make up, so I have tried my fair share. A few of my favourites are the L'oreal million lashes, L'oreal miss manga and the soap and glory thick and fast. If any of you have any recommendations please let me know, I'm always up for trying more!

3. What kind of coverage do you prefer from foundation
I'm cursed with oily and naturally red skin, so I do tend to go for a more medium coverage foundation. I have a fair few freckles too and I like them to show through my foundation which is why I tend to go for a medium coverage rather than full.

4. Favorite high end brand?
I don't have a huge high end collection and I have only real tried MAC for their lipsticks, Urban decay for their naked palettes and Estée Lauder and benefit for their foundations.

5. What cosmetic brands have you always wanted to try but still haven't?
There's so many. Bobbi Brown, Nars, Illamasqua and Make Up Forever to name a few.

6. Favorite drugstore brand?
Oh gosh I have so many. Rimmel and Revlon have never let me down. I'm also really loving Makeup Revolution at the moment too.

7. Do you wear fake eyelashes?
I have done, but I don't really now to be honest.

8. Is there any kind of makeup you can't leave the house without?
I'm aware I look hideous but I am OK with leaving the house without makeup if I'm going out quickly with my mum, I could never go to uni etc without makeup though. I used to go to work wearing the bare minimum and just wear foundation, eyebrows filled in and contour.

9. What is your most cherised beauty product?
Probably my MAC dark side lipstick and my naked palette/Stila in the light palette.

10. How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there or get lots of goodies at once?
A bit of both really. Sometimes I can go a while without buying anything and then buy a fair bit all in one go.

11. Do you have a "beauty budget" or you spend freely?
I definitely have a budget, sometimes I can't justify spending £15 on a lipstick or £38 on an eyeshadow palette buts it's nice to indulge once in a while! I think there's a lot of high street brands that are amazing for their price, makeup revolution being one so I like to buy a fair bit of night street knowing I'm getting a lot more for my money than if I were to buy a lipstick from MAC.

12. Do you utilize coupons, rewards cards and sales when you shop for cosmetics?
Yes! I'm always getting boots advantage card rewards which is dangerous.

13. What type of product do you buy the most of?
Lipstick without a doubt. I just love it and for someone who's incredibly self conscious about my mouth area, I find it bizarre.

14. Is there a makeup brand that you just can't stand?
I don’t think there is a brand I have tried that I disliked so much to the point that I couldn't stand it.

15. Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parabens or sulfates?
It’s a plus, but no I can't say I do.

16. Do you have a favorite place to shop for makeup?
Boots and Superdrug without a doubt.

17. Do you like trying new skincare products or do you keep a certain routine?
I enjoy trying new products but always tend to stick to the same routine.

18. Favorite bath and body brand?
Soap & Glory and Lush I'd say.

19. If you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose?
This is hard but I'd probably say Revlon? Maybe! I seem to have tried virtually every aspect of their range and I enjoy different elements so that'd probably be a safe bet although that'd be so hard to do.

20. What brand do you think has the best packaging?
YSL lipsticks for sure. So beautiful!

21. Which celebrity always has great makeup?
At the Moment I have to say kylie Jenner.

22Do you belong to any online makeup communities?
No.

23. 5 Favorite Beauty Gurus
Shaaanxo, Lauren Curtis, Pixiwoo, Kandee Johnson, Tanya Burr.

24. Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?
Not really.

25. Are you clumsy in putting makeup?
I can be yeah, especially if I'm in a rush or if I have to get up early for uni.

26. Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
Yes, I have to!

27. How many hair products do you use on a typical day?
When I wash my hair I obviously use shampoo and conditioner and then a deep conditioning treatment once a week. I rarely use any other products though I literally do nothing with my hair apart from brush it.

28. What do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
I hardly ever wear concealer to be honest but when I do, I apply foundation first then concealer.

29. Do you ever consider taking makeup classes?
Yes, I'd love to!

30. What do you love about makeup?
I love the confidence it can give me and the different looks I can create. I love experimenting with new products and genuinely having something that interests me. I also love sharing tips or products with others who also share the same interest.

Catch up

Hello lovely people!
I can't believe its been over a year since my last post. It's scary how fast time goes by.
I could make up so many excuses as to why I've been absent but my New Years resolution was to actually start blogging again as I loved it so much and a month into the new year....here I am.
I started this blog back in 2012, and my love of all things beauty is still going strong (probably the only thing I've actually stuck with haha) which is why I want to start blogging again!

I hope you're all ok! X

NOTW #2

Hey everyone! Hope you've all had a good week, is it me or they seem to go past really quick nowadays?! It's crazy!
Anyway, here I am with my usual nail of the week post. I decided to try something a little bit different for me this week and I attempted the gradient glitter effect, I know it's not the best and I so regret choosing a silver glitter polish but hey! I do think glitter polishes can look pretty, but I know I won't be saying that when it comes to getting it off!
For this look I used Barry m black nail polish and then another Barry m polish which is their limited edition silver glitter one, I'm not sure if they still have it but I'm sure another brand will have something extremely similar!

Hope you're all well! X

Make up history tag!

Hey everyone, I have another tag for you all today! I tag anyone who reads this to do it, then leave your links down in the comments and I'll read them all! :)
Picture found on weheartit.com and edited on  PicMonkey
1. How long have you been wearing makeup?
I started to wear it properly when I was probably around 16, not long before I left school, but even then it was just foundation and a little bit of mascara! (When I could be bothered to wake up earlier for school to apply it!)

2. What was your favourite makeup product in the beginning?
I was fascinated by all sorts of makeup in my early teens, and literally used to collect it but never ever wear it, but the only product I did wear was lipbalms, I used to, and still love them! I think the obsession started off with the Body Shop lipbalms!

3. What is your favourite makeup product now?
I think it still is lip products, but not only lipbalms, I'm more of a lipstick kinda girl now too which I never imagined!

4. What were some of your favourite brands in the beginning?
I honestly don't think I had a favourite brand, I just went for what I liked and what was a good price. I think I brought a lot of Rimmel products when I was younger though, especially those metallic single eyeshadows they used to do, my friend and I used to love them but never ever wore them, and I'm so glad we didn't as thinking back to it, I'm sure we had a variety of bright blue metallic eyeshadows....not a good look!

5. What are some of your favourite brands now?
To be fair, I still stick to some stuff that's a good price and I'd rather pick out something cheap that works really well  rather than something expensive which does virtually the same thing. Although I do love Revlon. Revlon is definitely my favourite high street brand, alongside Rimmel. MUA is absolutely fantastic too, seriously could not rave about their products enough- especially their eyeshadows. Non high street wise- I do love MAC and Nars for when I'm feeling to splurge out on things.

6. How would you describe your makeup style?
I think it's pretty simple. I go for the more natural colours for the eye and if I'm feeling a bright or dark lip, I'll go for that too.

7. What is your everyday makeup like?
I usually wear foundation, blusher, maybe contour, eyeshadow if I'm feeling it, fill in my eyebrows, mascara and a highlighter again if i'm feeling up to it.

8. What is your going out makeup like?
I usually wear foundation, blusher, contour, either winged liner or eye shadow, highlighter and a bright lipstick, and mascara or fake eyelashes.

9. What makeup look are you known for?
I don't think I'm known for any but the only thing I can think of is my eyebrows?! I'm the only one out of my group of friends who likes to fill in their eyebrows.

10. What's the worst beauty crime you have committed?
The only thing I can think of is sleeping in my makeup. I make sure I always take it off now, although saying that I did go on a night out the other night and woke up the next morning realising I'd slept in it which felt awful but I ensure I take it off every other time!

11. What is the worst beauty crime you are proud to have not committed?
Not sure it's a beauty crime as such but I've never ever worn thick black eyeliner on my waterline. I just really dislike it and I remember so many people at school wearing it I'm glad I didn't. It's just not for me.

12. What is a trend you were part of but now aren't a fan of?
Hmm, not sure if it's a trend but the only thing I can think of is the Maybelline matte mousse foundation. I'm sure it was one of my first foundations which I properly started to wear in year 11 and I'm sure every other girl had it too. I truly dislike it now.

13. What is one trend you are proud to say you were never part of?
Aside from the whole eyeliner thing, I think the orange face and white neck thing that suddenly started to happen....the real OTT look.

14. What is one look you will never ever go for?
I think the real OTT look...like the jersey shore look?!You know?

15. If you were brave enough to go for any look, what would you go for?
Errrrm, aside from makeup related, I think colourful hair...I really want pastel coloured hair!!

16. What is an old Holy Grail product of yours?
I genuinely think it was the Maybelline Matte Mousse haha. I'm not sure whether I actually believed it was good or if it was because everyone had it, but I remember I kept buying it and wouldn't try any foundations until after I left school.

17. What is a current Holy Grail product of yours?
I'm still yet to find a holy grail foundation but I do love the no.7 matte foundation. My definitely holy grail mascara has to be the Rimmel Glam Eyes day 2 night, I love it! Another holy grail item non makeup related has to be the La Roche Posay Effeclar Duo. It's done wonders for my skin and I honestly couldn't see myself without it!!

My week in pictures! 14-21st April 2012

Hey everyone! It's Sunday night now so we're at the end of the week. It's been an ok week for me- not the best, not the worst, but I did take a few pictures along the way which sums up my week and ill be sharing them with you!

Last Sunday I spring cleaned my bedroom and made it feel super relaxing my lighting a candle and just chilling in bed with my iPad. I always love the feeling of fresh bed sheets and a clean bedroom...lovely!

I had chocolate poptarts for breakfast practically everyday this week...naughty I know but they're so good! I'm super jealous of American people and how easy it is for them to get all the yummy flavours!

My delivery from jodie marsh arrived on Tuesday. I've always been curious about her sports range and I've heard real good things about her semtex so I jumped at the chance when she had a buy one get one free deal on! I'm going to start these tomorrow alongside going to the gym so I'm interested to see if they make any difference!

On Thursday my mum and I went into Starbucks and as some of you may know, I don't drink and never have drank hot drinks so I ordered my first ever drink from there which was their cool like refresher...it was lovely and certainly lived up to the hype. Although they did spell my name wrong haha!

On Friday my mum and I took a trip into Morrisons and I picked up the new cadburys chocolate bars to share with my brother. They were yummy and very different!

Do any of you have any 'my week in photos' posts? I'd love to see them! They're probably more interesting than mine too haha! X

P.s: just realised most of my photos are food related, sorry! (I like food)

NOTW #1

Hey everyone! It's a sunny Sunday morning here in the UK which instantly makes me happy! I decided to wake up pretty early this morning to ensure my day is productive, and already I've done what I needed to do so decided to allow the sun to influence what colour I chose for my nails for this week.
Whilst looking through my nail varnish collection I immediately went towards the brighter colours, and then I realised I hadn't worn blue in a while soooo I went for that! My choice was 'Cyan Blue' by Barry M. It's a lovely colour and makes a change from the standard pastel blue or navy blue I suppose! I love Barry M nail varnishes and I own virtually every single one, so expect them to make an appearance in future NOTW's! Hope you're all well and enjoying your Sundays! X
